I had to replace my iPod sensor for my shoes yesterday so that it would work. Well when I did that I then discovered the transmitter was not being recognized by my iPod. I started to think that this race in the morning was not going to be a good day. So off I went to the Apple store to figure things out. They only had one guy that was even slightly familiar with the Nike + sensor--however, since it is made by Apple then I was hoping he could fix things. So in the end I told them I would just return the sensor and buy the kit with both items. Instead, the took my broken transmitter, my newly purchased sensor and gave me for free the new kit. So I saved $10. I was so happy! Great service!
What a great day for a race! The weather was great for a race. I am pretty sure this was my best race this season. Everything about it felt great!
The highlights: I got to spend time with Jen and Kristen. Jen and I found Bekah along the beginning of the course and throughout! . I was with Jen when she ran her longest consecutive distance. We ran the entire race. We enjoyed a smoke-free environment and delicious food at Outback for lunch.
So the course had changed and I had not paid much attention to that. It was good! The plan for today was to try and keep a fairly consistent pace. We were not really over concerned with our finish time but had our mind set on a possibility of finishing around 2:15. I had to have something in the back of my mind. My foot had been feeling much better on runs lately so I was hopeful. Well, it was a good day! Breathing was good, foot was good, and stomach was good! I could not have asked for anything better than that. It was so weird to have a race that I felt good the whole way--all the way through the finish line. Praising God!
I did not expect to see anyone we knew on the course. Well I did not see her but Jen did and she caught some fun photos--that would be Bekah's sidekick, Andrea! Thank you for being there Andrea! Thank you for catching some fun photos.
I am not for sure on the finish time--we clocked on our watched something around 2:17--------I am waiting to find results online which I am having trouble doing.
